True North Real Estate Development’s (TNRED) redevelopment of Portage Place is underway to help strengthen and connect Winnipeg’s core, bringing healthcare, neighbourhood services and spaces and affordable housing to the heart of downtown. Detailed project information is available HERE.

KEY MALL ACCESS CHANGES & CLOSURES
- The east block is an active construction site and fully closed, along with related access points: north and south Promenade/Edmonton St. Centre Court doors are closed.
- South access to Portage Place is via doors at the intersection of Portage and Kennedy and mid-block between Edmonton and Kennedy.
- North mall access is via a new entry point directly adjacent to the North Promenade Centre Court doors.
- East block tenants have been relocated to the centre block.
- Washroom access is available outside the YMCA at the 2nd level.
- Wayfinding signage is located throughout the centre block.
SKYWALK CLOSURE & DETOUR
- The Skywalk from Portage Place east to the Hydro building is closed.
- An outdoor detour reconnects with the skywalk system:
- Exit Portage Place via the “office” entrance, mid-block on Portage between Edmonton and Kennedy, cross Portage Ave. at Edmonton St. and head east on the south side of Portage to the Carlton Building at 350 Portage, where both stairs and an elevator provide access to the skywalk. Wayfinding signage is on site to assist in travelling this route, and the skywalk access point is clearly marked on the exterior of 350 Portage – see map above.
PARKADE ACCESS AND LANE CLOSURES
- Entry and exit access via Vaughan St. (on Promenade); Carlton St. parkade entrance is closed.
- Ample parking remains for hourly/daily parkers; monthly parkers are not impacted.
- Wayfinding signage is located throughout the parkade.
- With the closure of the Portage Ave. north westbound lane, the Portage at Edmonton transit stop has been relocated to Portage Ave. just east of Kennedy.
